I have spoken to my club professional several times in the last few months about going through a fitting session. He recommended going ahead and getting one before Christmas. He said that once we have all my specs I can keep an eye out on the "used club" sales and pick up a fairly new if not brand new set being unloaded by the golf manufacturer's designed around my specifications.

I have never been through a fitting. My first set was an off the shelf box set. My second set was from Acer and I just let them "fit" me based on some online questions.

My Pro feels as if the shafts on my current and old set are too flexible and I am using a slightly larger grip than I should be (I am using a Jumbo grip).

I am open to any suggestions, recommendations.

Yea getting fit for stuff is the only way to go these days. Too many variables for one setup to work with everyone. Crazy how shaft decision makes all the difference in driver these days.

Just curious, what's his reasoning that your shafts are too flexible? A fitting is good to get an idea on what could work for you so if you got the time and money, then do it.
